Summary

A randomised crossover simulation trial comparing a mobile app (PedAMINES) with a conventional drug infusion rate table for preparing continuous vasoactive infusions during simulated paediatric cardiac arrest. Twenty paediatric emergency nurses prepared dopamine and noradrenaline infusions in a high-fidelity manikin scenario. Outcomes were time to drug preparation and delivery, plus medication dosage error rates, both of which were substantially reduced with the app. Relevant to PICU teams interested in resuscitation drug safety, cognitive aids and simulation-based training.
