Summary

A three-round Delphi consensus with 53 Spanish PICU experts adapting an adult ICU humanisation good-practice manual to the paediatric setting. From 160 original practices plus 30 new proposals, 132 consensus practices were agreed and graded as basic, advanced or excellent. The framework targets child- and family-centred care, family involvement, communication and comfort measures, with nurses central to implementation. Intended as a measurable tool for continuous quality improvement in PICUs of varying resource levels.
