Summary

Systematic review-informed modified Delphi consensus from the PEACE collaborative on anticoagulant medications used during paediatric ECMO. Forty-eight experts reviewed 18 studies and produced two recommendations, two consensus statements and one good practice statement, all reaching over 80% agreement. The authors conclude that evidence is insufficient to define optimal anticoagulation therapy for children on ECMO and highlight the need for higher-quality research. Relevant to PICU and ECMO teams managing circuit and patient anticoagulation.
