Summary

A randomised cross-over manikin study in which 20 anaesthetists intubated a paediatric manikin simulating a Cormack-Lehane grade 4 view using Airtraq, McGrath and Macintosh laryngoscopes. Outcomes were successful intubation rate, time to intubate, glottic view and potential dental trauma. The Airtraq achieved the highest success rate with better visibility and less simulated dental trauma. Findings are simulation-based and relevant to device selection and training for difficult paediatric airways, though not directly transferable to patients.
